FC Barcelona’s defeat by Real Madrid on Wednesday night proved to be the catalyst for what many had seen as being inevitable. With the board of Barça convening a meeting to discuss the crisis in the club on Thusday, Joan Laporta announced at the following press conference that Frank Rijkaard was to leave the club at the end of June, with B Team manager Pep Guardiola taking over for next season.
While Guardiola is seen by many to be the perfect choice for Barcelona- Catalan though and through, ex-Barça player, and already part of the family - others are not so sure that he is the right choice for Barça’s style of play.
