Valencia Grand Prix

European Grand Prix Comes to Valencia
By Selwyn Figueras

Pencil the following date into your diary: 24th August, 2008. The F1 world championship will make its second visit of the 2008 Formula 1 World Championship to Spain to celebrate the latest addition to the number of street circuit events on the championship's calendar. Valencia will be hosting the European Grand Prix in 2008.

This exciting new event promises to showcase all the thrills of the pinnacle of motorsport at close hand and will surely be reminiscent of the greatest of the homes of Formula 1, one amongst the most glamorous of venues which include the Mecca of Formula 1, the Monaco Grand Prix.

Formula 1 in the UK has seen an exponential growth in its following, down in no small part to the arrival of the biggest rookie sensation the sport has ever seen. Lewis Hamilton has, in one fell swoop, captured the hearts and imagination of a country and got under the skin of the 'new' old guard in Formula 1. In one year, the British rookie has taken the British Formula 1 following from nowhere all the way to the brink of the first British driver's championship title since Damon Hill in 1996, It was his inexperience that betrayed him on just two fleeting moments of passion, two moments he will never forget, which saw the championship slip through his fingers.

For 2008 Lewis Hamilton will be looking to stamp his authority on the sport he knows he was born to dominate. Fernando Alonso's departure from the McLaren team and the spy sagas the sport has seen this year has left Hamilton's team licking its wounds, yet surely planning their all-out assault on 2008. The European Grand Prix is yet another event on the calendar within easy reach of the British fans. Tickets are not yet on sale, but soon will be. As soon as they're available, they're sure to be swept up in days. Getting to and staying at Valencia for the grand prix weekend need not break the bank either, not if you book early.

A search for information about the new European Grand Prix yielded the discovery of a website dedicated to bringing everything the British fan needs to know about the event together in one place. The www.valencia-f1.co.uk website offers information and links for the purchase of everything you need to get yourself down to Valencia for the grand prix. It's a simple, easy to navigate website with just enough information to satisfy most. The links it provides will help satiate the needs of info-junkies all over the country.

The European Grand Prix, on the brink of the last third of the races of the year, promises to play a major role in determining the F1 World Champion for 2008. You'll rub shoulders with Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa. You'll also be showing your support for Lewis Hamilton or any other of your favourite drivers. One way or another, this one is not to be missed.
